Finally settled in Tokyo!! Way more troublesome to rent than Singapore! - やっと決まった、東京の引越し先 - やっぱり長く慣れ親しんだあの街に決定です！
It has been a week to settle a place in Tokyo since I have applied for it. There is always evaluation after applying for a place before contract has been confirmed in Japan. What kind of evaluation? It is to see what kind of company you work for? and how much is the capital and revenue?, how long you work for and how much your salary is..etc.
In Tokyo, on top of 1 month rent fee in advance you will be charged as following before you stay in the place.
- Rei-kin 礼金 - 1 (or 2) month rent fee for thanking for the owner (non refundable)
- Shiki-kin 敷金 - 1 (or 2) month rent fee for deposit (refundable but after cleaning fee deducted when you leave the place.)
- Tesuryo - 手数料 - 1 month rent fee equivalent for agent fee
Besides, you must have a co-signer (guarantor) otherwise you have to apply for a company to guarantee your contract, which is called 保証会社 (Hoshogaisha) and generally you have to pay 0.5 month rent fee, non-refundable and SGD 150 to renew a contract every year.
In total, you have to pay 4.5 month rent fee before you can stay the place!!
やっと東京で住む部屋が決まりました！通常より厳しい審査があったり、土壇場で、申し込んでいたところが借りられなくなりそうだったり、吸った揉んだありましたが、最終的には、最初から希望していた所を無事借りる事ができました！場所は中目黒です。
私が東京に出てきて一番最初に住んだのがこの街で、故郷以外で一番思い入れのある場所だし、馴染みのある場所です。学生時代アルバイトをしていた代官山も近いし、通っていた美容室やお店も近いので、これからまた通えると思うと、何とも言えない良い気分です。
ただ、やっぱり、あれから5年も経ってしまっているので、開発も進んでいるし、店もターンオーバーしていて、良い意味でも悪い意味でも、変わってしまったなぁという感はありますが。これからまた新しい東京生活のスタートです！これからは、中目黒・代官山近辺のお店情報などを発信していきます！楽しみにしていて下さい。
